LatinPharma2005 was made in the city of Santiago of Chile and counted on the participation of 120 originating companies of 13 Latin American countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay y Venezuela)

The commercial interchanges between the companies have been translated in commercial transactions and contracts of cooperation for joint development of new products, assembled, valued representation and distribution valued by the participants between 8 and 18 Million dollars.

Conferences on the intellectual property, the regional mechanisms of facilitation of the commerce, systems integrator management of warm and the integration of the companies in the chain of the sector they were distributed the participants accompanied by the dissemination of technical information and commercial.

LatinPharma2004 was the encounter of businesses organized by the Program of Promotion of South-south Comercio of the Center of Trade International (CCI) altogether with the agencies of commercial promotion of the countries members of the Mercosur, the Andean Community (DOG) and Chile, as well as the involved regional groups.

Its central objective was to increase the essential, natural and insumos medicine commerce, as well as to promote the integration and development of the Latin American pharmaceutical sector. For it, it counted on different activities that allow to the interaction and exchange of information between the participants. Some of these activities are: A forum of discussion via previous Internet to the encounter of businesses in Rio de Janeiro. The event counted on a day of conferences dictated by specialists in subjects of interest for the pharmaceutical industry and natural.

Also all the assistants counted on gratuitous Consultant's office offered by the specialists of the conferences and three days of commercial exhibition.

Like in LatinPharma2002 in El Salvador, the LatinPharma2003 event in Peru, counted on a wheel of businesses, a specialized international fair in suppliers for the pharmaceutical industry, a forum of discussion by conference. During the next months, the methodology will be being developed for the sector of essential medicines and natural pharmaceutical products, since according to the analysis of commercial flows east sector it presented/displayed the greater potential for the intra-regional interchange.

At the beginning of 2001, the ITC initiated conversations with the Fair the International of El Salvador, a regional datum point for the organization of events, conferences and seminaries. The project was presented/displayed to the Fair and its Board of directors in September of 2001, and these offered their total support quickly to the initiative. The Fair suggested to include seminaries in order to cover important subjects related to the pharmaceutical sector. One remembered that these subjects included generic investigation and development, products, international marketing, and the agreement (TRIPS) of the Worldwide Organization of Comercio. The oradores of the first 2 subjects came from Latin American countries, and could share their successful experiences. They were of Cuba and Brazil.

The other 2 subjects were boarded by orators of the great international prestige.

It was considered to create a forum of discussion by electronic mail to discuss subjects of regional interest. An investigation made by pharmaceutical associations, companies and universities in the region put of relief 4 subjects: application of good practices of manufacture, medicine marketing Rx and OTC, patents in the pharmaceutical industry, and biodiversity and bioequivalence.

The ITC was put then in contact with a regional expert in Peru to develop and to direct the electronic discussions (ECIE). The group formed and the event was called LatinPharma Expo 2002. It was made in El Salvador of the 10 to 12 de Abril del 2002.
